WhatsApp is giving admins greater control over who joins groups and is letting users see groups they’ve in common.
Mark Zuckerberg announced some new updates about the group on Tuesday. This gives admins more control over group privacy and makes it easier for users to see what groups they have in common.
WhatsApp announced Communities late last year. It helps you organize group conversations by connecting multiple groups under one roof. Communities are large and can have hundreds of members, so WhatsApp now gives group admins more control over who joins a group.
When an admin shares a group invite link or makes a group joinable in the community, it now shows a list of users who want to join. A pending participants list with accept and reject buttons allows admins to select members to add at their discretion. WhatsApp makes it easy to find out which groups a user has shared with others. This is useful if you’re trying to remember the name of a group you shared with someone, or if you want to see which groups you’re both in.
To see which groups a contact has shared with, just search for their name in WhatsApp.
