When the PS VR2 was released in February of last year, its library had more over 40 games.

Sony has announced that VR games on PC will be supported for the PlayStation VR2. The business declared on Wednesday that it was evaluating the PS VR2’s capacity to run PC VR games in addition to the PS5’s supported titles. In February 2023, the PS VR2 debuted in global markets; in December, it made its debut in India. Only the PS5 is now compatible with the virtual reality headset; PS VR content from earlier generations is not supported.

Along with information about a number of PS VR2 games that will be available on the device, Sony posted the update on the PlayStation blog. “We’re happy to announce that, in addition to the PS VR2 titles available through PS5, we are now testing the ability for PS VR2 players to access additional games on PC,” the blog stated. It further stated, “We hope to make this support available in 2024. Stay tuned for more updates.”

Although a specific release date for PC VR game support has not yet been announced, it will undoubtedly increase the PS VR2 game library’s current small size. There are still unknowns regarding PC support’s compatibility, platforms, and performance. Would users of the PS VR2, for instance, be able to obtain and access PC VR games with SteamVR compatibility? It should become evident in due course. On February 22, 2023, the PS VR2 was released, and its library contained over 40 games. Throughout the year, other games were introduced, such as Resident Evil 4 VR.

A new PS VR2 game called The Wizards – Dark Times: Brotherhood, an action-adventure spellcasting game that puts players in the role of wizards and lets them cast spells with hand gestures, was recently unveiled by PlayStation. The virtual reality game can be experienced in up to three-player cooperative play or alone in single-player mode. Users of PS VR2 can now access the game through the PlayStation Store.

Launch dates, DLCs, and fresh announcements for a number of additional VR games available on the platform were disclosed on the site. Mighty Eyes’ time-traveling action virtual reality game Wanderer: The Fragments of Fate has a new gameplay teaser and a release date. It releases on June 27. In addition, Purple Yonder’s city-building game Little Cities Bigger was revealed for PS VR2, with an arrival date of March 12.

This year, Zombie Army VR—the virtual reality adaptation of the well-liked Sniper Elite offshoot series—will also be available for PS VR2. Three new Horde mode levels and an in-game Corgi companion are among the new free upgrades for Arizona Sunshine 2. The recently updated Cosmetics Screen allows you to add the Corgi friend as a sidekick. It is currently available for purchase. Beginning in March, there will be three new multiplayer maps released every month.

At last, the blog unveiled more images and information regarding the fundamental principles of Soul Covenant, the forthcoming narrative action JRPG from Thirdverse. The virtual reality game will debut in 2024.

Sony’s VR improvements come after the announcements during last month’s State of Play conference of two VR games for PS VR2, Metro Awakening and Legendary Tales. This year, the PS VR2 will release Metro Awakening, a narrative-driven first-person virtual reality game from the Metro series. Conversely, Urban Wolf Games’ VR action-RPG Legendary Tales was released on February 8.
