Humane’s wearable AI assistant brings the futuristic technology straight out of a Hollywood sci-fi film. But, can it replace smartphones in the future?
Founded by Apple veterans Imran Chaudhri and Bethany Bongiorno, Humane has operated in stealth mode for a long time. The company made headlines this week when Chaudhri demonstrated a projector-based wearable AI assistant for the first time in his TED talk. According to reports, this tiny device could serve as an AI-powered personal assistant for him and could replace all smartphones in the near future.
Founded by a former senior designer and senior software engineer at Apple, Humane will raise more than $100 million in 2021. In March of this year, the company managed to raise $250 million, making it the only AI startup to raise money without announcing a product. There has been a lot of interest in startups, but until now, little was known about their products and services. But with a new video leak of a wearable AI assistant, Humane seems to be back in the news and seems to be in the middle of an ever-evolving AI space.
So what is Humane’s AI-powered wearable projector?
Humane’s AI projector bringsfuturistic technology straight from Hollywood sci-fi. The idea of replacing your smartphone with a tiny voice-activated device that projects everything from calls to messages into your hand might not have occurred to you. Humane’s new wearable AI assistant does just that.
“If this works, AI will open up a world of possibilities.Today I want to share with you what I believe to be the solution to this goal, and for the first time I want to do so openly. It’s a new breed of wearable device and platform builtfrom the ground up for artificial intelligence. and it’s completely self-contained. You don’t need a smartphone orother device to pair,” Chaudhri said in a Ted Talk.
What you can do with a wearable AI assistant
Human wearable AI is a tiny device that can answer phone calls, translate languages with AI, display emails and messages, and even tell you what to eat based on your dietary restrictions. During Chaudhri’s demo, the device instantly translated his voice into French, provided email and meeting updates, and told him what foods to avoid. According to Chaudhari, the device’s most unique feature is that it doesn’t even need to be paired.
According to Chaudhari, the device will interact with the world in the same way humans interact with it. He saidthe device hears what we hear and sees what we see. The former Apple designer also explained that while privacy and security are priorities, the device sits behind the user’s life.
Humane’s devices don’t require touch screens like smartphones; they can be controlled by just speaking. Tapit to ask for email, message, and calendar event updates. Based on the demo, the device appears to be able to scan objects and provide responses similar to OpenAI’s ChatGPT. This was demonstrated by Chaudhari when the device gave him a breakdown of the snack’s ingredients.
However, we won’t know how this latest wearable AI technology will work until it’s released. There is currently no information on when the device will be released. emergence of mankind
Humane has not released a product but has been around since 2017. The company has been in the spotlight since its inception thanks to its two co-founders, husband and wife, Imran Chaudhari and Bethany Bongiorno.

The couple has over a dozen patents to their credit. One of his patents is “a portable multimedia device and cloud computing platform with a laser projection system.” The couple reportedly said in an interview with the press that “rethinking the role of technology in the next wave of innovation” was their motivation for founding Human.
